Events, Appearances & Important Dates

Whenever we schedule a Special Event or Road Trip we'll list it here so can join us at events, or take advantage of us being in your area to set up a Workshop or Mentoring Session.

NOTE: We are keeping our travel schedule light for 2013 as there is so much work to do here at home cleaning up after Hurricane Sandy! However, we do hope to hit many Events this year, including Traditional Archery Rendezvous', Knap-in's and Primitive Skills Gatherings to let as many people as possible know about our new place, so if you know of a cool event within driving distance from New Jersey send us the info, and if we can work it into the scheule we'll try to make it out!

Stone Tool Technology Show

Letchworth State Park
Castile, NY
August 23-25

"Letchworth" is the largest Stone Tool show in the Northeast, and we can't wait to go again this yeat. This one is on the calendar of just about every serious flintknapper in the eastern U.S., and only bring as much money as you can afford to spend because when you see all the pretty, pretty rock self-control quickly goes straight out the window!
Set in the area of the Genesee River, take an hour to check out the fabulous falls and the 600 foot gorge that the New York State Park website calls "the Grand Canyon of the east".
For more information & directions, check out the New York State Parks & Recreation website.

Knap Camp!

Knap Camp!

Practical Primitive
Great Meadows, NJ
Saturday August 30 - Monday September 2

We haven't been able to get to Flint Ridge the last couple of years, so decided it was high time to start a brand new Labor Day weekend knapping tradition right here in New Jersey. KNAP CAMP!
Part workshop, part knap-in, part weekend get-together, Knap Camp is three days of flintknapping, food and fun. The teaching will be more free-flowing than a traditional knapping workshop, and based entirely on what you as a Knap Camper need help with at the time. Can't figure out how to make your flakes travel farther? Don't have the knack of pressure flaking? Ready to try fluting your first Clovis point? Knap Camp is the place to learn! Whether you are a complete novice, an experienced knapper, or somewhere in between, ALL SKILL LEVELS are welcome at Knap Camp!
Check out the Knap Camp page to register, or to get more detailed information about this awesome way to spend your Labor Day weekend!
